Greetings,

Welcome to the November 2016 issue of StrokeNet.

The leaves are beginning to turn. We are still having some warm days, but winter is definitely on the way. I have been busy making appointments which I want to have before the cold sets in. Seems like there is always lots to do.

This month we have the first of our seasonal articles. Stroke of Luck kicks off the holidays with tips how to survive this hectic time. It can be a challenge!

In this issue..

Walt provides an update on Stem Cell Research. In "The Juggling Caregiver" Claudia talks about two surprises this month. Rachel in "Stroke of Luck," gives hints for Surviving the Holidays.

Jay shares a poem, Mosaic. Barb, in "Survivor's Best Friend," discusses Empathy. Member Story is Mike Purdy.

Bookends to the newsletter are Organization Highlights and Member Celebrations. Be sure to read both!

Enjoy the November newsletter!

Tell Your Story!!
Member Story Invitation

For the past twelve years, StrokeNet has been publishing the personal stories of stroke survivors and their caregivers.

Every survivor and caregiver has a unique experience and point of view to offer. StrokeNet gives others, in similar circumstances, the opportunity to learn about your own experience, and how your viewpoint has changed post-stroke.

We've all been there, either as a stroke survivor or as a caregiver. We know what it's like firsthand to be transported, in the blink of an eye, from our normal lives to a life of shattered dreams and an uncertain outlook, with our physical and emotional reality altered forever.
